Experience the Best of Barrow, Alaska with Unique North Slope Tours

Barrow, Alaska is the northernmost city in the United States and offers visitors a unique experience of the Arctic region. Enjoy a tour of the Inupiat village, visit culturally specific destinations where you can meet indigenous Inupiaq people of the Arctic region, and immerse yourself in traditional events and customs. The guide will walk you through the tundra to the ancient remains of the sod huts, stopping at iconic sites such as the whalebone arches and the historically registered whaling post.

Imagine tapping your foot to traditional drumming, watching the movement of the fur-covered mitts, the bouncing pom-poms of the beaded maklaks, and being invited to dance the native dances during the cultural performance. The tours present a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn about the history, art, and way of life of the Inupiaq people through their songs, which often weave fascinating tales.

During the tour through the Inupiat Heritage Center, your guide will share insights on the migration patterns, neighboring villages, subsistence living, festivals, and celebrations. In the traditional room, you can catch a glimpse of Inupiat artists honing their skills while making tools, crafting native art, or working on their Umiaqs for whaling season. This is an authentic, hands-on Arctic Experience that you just can't miss. Book one of our North Slope tours when you make your reservations with us.
